2nd DFG Berlinale Dinner

Two DFG-insured films were screened at the 69th Berlinale, and the DFG insured 15 of the 25 most successful German cinema productions in 2018, once again confirming its market leadership as a film insurer.

Hamburg, 21 February 2019   -   Robert von Bennigsen, Managing Director of the Burmester, Duncker & Joly Group, took stock at the second DFG Berlinale Dinner in the Restaurant Diekmann. In his short speech he thanked the guests "family & friends" for the good cooperation and the trust.

"The Berlin film festival (Berlinale) reaches its climax over the course of the first weekend. By Sunday evening, half of the competition films have been shown and a large number of stars have walked down the red carpets. Almost all funding institutions, the Film Academy and the Producer Association, the banks, most law firms, the broadcasters and numerous other players in the film industry have had their events. After this hectic, but beautiful and exciting starting phase, Sunday evening is already seen as the end of the Berlinale for many, some will come only for the more peaceful remainder of the festival. So it's appropriate that the DFG invited their guests to a sit-down dinner in the Restaurant Diekmann to ring out the first part and sound in the second."

This year, several celebrities from the film business were happy to accept the DFG's invitation. Producers, broadcaster representatives, production managers, line producers, actors, suppliers, set designers, media lawyers, doctors, insurance brokers and claims experts all attended.

Robert von Bennigsen: "Traditions begin with their second repetition. We look forward to the 3rd DFG Berlinale Dinner in 2020."
